Popplet is a tool that allows users to create graphic organizers, timelines among others. It is perfect for students to make brainstorms or outlines before starting an essay. This app will help your students to have their ideas well organized and presented. It is similar to Padlet in terms of organizing the ideas and also because you can work on your laptop or on a smartphone and also add some images to make it more illustrative.

1) Why is this particular tool or technology relevant to language learning? What approaches to language learning or research underpin the use of this technology?
As Padlet, Popplet is pretty helpful during the writing process, which is an important part of learning a second language. Students can organize and plan their ideas before starting to write so the writing task will be easier.
2) How might you use it to foster language learning? Think about your target audience.
As I said before, this app is perfect for planning the writing process but it can also be used as flashcards. You can use Popplet with older students to develop writing skills but children prefer images so you can make a colorful popplet and use it as a flashcard.
3) What limitations can you see with the use of this technology for the purposes of language learning?
Some tools of popplet need a premium subscription so you will have to pay if you want to use them.

One of my favorite pages to make collaborative concept maps with my students. There are other more complete, but this is very simple and has many possibilities.
ResponderEliminarA couple of "tricks" for Popplet:
- To insert a link to a website, simply copy and paste your address in the "Popple", it will work by clicking on the "go to link" button that appears when you hover over it.
- To insert an image, copy and paste its URL into a Popple and it will appear magically
Thank you Cito, nice entry!
Quite an interesting tool as Mindmeister! It has its focus on writing skills too, and is a good tool to use for planning a text, making outlines or brainstorming as you said. I liked that you can be creative too.
