Plickers is an assessment tool made by a teacher who was looking for a quick way to check student's understanding. This app allows the user to collect formative assessment data just using a computer or a smartphone. Teachers can use it as a previous practice before a test or as a real-time test, they will receive all the data they need about the right or wrong answers.Plickers generates QR codes so every student will have a different one. Teachers can scan the codes with a smartphone and the data will appear on the screen. Works like online clickers so teachers can easily use this tool as a game.

1) Why is this particular tool or technology relevant to language learning? What approaches to language learning or research underpin the use of this technology?
Gamification plays an important role in teaching with the help of this app, one more time. Plickers use competition to encourage students' motivation. You can use the platform with any subject, therefore, every teacher can use it.
2) How might you use it to foster language learning? Think about your target audience.
I have already use Plickers in my internship and students loved it. They usually didn't participate because they were too shy but scanning their codes they participated but in a low profile which was perfect because we were knowing each other so the activity gave me some ideas about their likes and then they felt more confident to participate more openly. They were all adults and even then felt motivated and enjoyed the activity, the children will enjoy it even more.
3) What limitations can you see with the use of this technology for the purposes of language learning?
This app is my favorite above all because, in my opinion, it does not has limitations. If you do not have access to computers or smartphones for each student, you can project the questions on the board and even in those conditions play with the codes, scanning them with your smartphone.

ResponderEliminarIt is a very modern way of asking for lessons, and a very good way to know if we have studied at home!
I've used this app before and it is quite fun and interesting. I used during my internship and students loved it. They had fun and learnt a lot. It brings significative learning and motivates students to participate. I will definitively recommend it. I think is similar to Kahoot but just in terms of gamification because have a different focus on the learning skills. Excellent post!
