Kahoot is a game-based platform, used as educational technology in schools and other educational institutions. Its learning games named kahoots are multiple-choice quizzes that allow student-teacher interaction.

Here you can watch a short guide of how to use it:
Ways to play!
1)
Why is this particular tool or technology relevant to language
learning? What approaches to language learning or research underpin the use of
this technology?
Kahoot is a pretty interesting tool to use during a class because use the students' interests to motivate them to participate and learn in a more interactive way through gamification.
2)
How might you use it to foster language learning? Think about your target audience.
Kahoot is perfect to enhance vocabulary acquisition and as it is a tool that needs a technological device such as computers, Ipads or cellphones, will be interesting for children to use it.
3)
What limitations can you see with the use of this technology for
the purposes of language learning?
If you do not have access to any technological device that I mentioned before nor access to the internet, you won't be able to use Kahoot.

Regarding the disadvantage that students need a smartphone/tablet, you can try to book a computer lab. Despite the only disadvantage, I totally agree that kahoot is user friendly!
ResponderEliminarThis app is great, is one of my favorites. A few tips if you don't have access to enough computers, use the team mode, and to avoid vulgar nicknames make them choose among colors, countries or fruits.
